Equity Master launch

Three ‘boys from the bush’ have developed a financial package to be launched on the national market, now that it’s been given the nod by two interstate banks.

Launceston-bsed Australian Finance and Insurance (AFI) has already launched the EQUITY MASTER program in Tasmania, and are eyeing off the interstate market.

Both e Victorian and Western Australian Challenge Bank and the NSW Metway bank have been quick to recognise the potential of AFI’s innovative systm, developing new packages to slot into the EQUITY MASTER program.

In Tasmania, EQUITY MASTER has been taken up by the Island State Credit Union.

The three directors of AFI, Bill Carbray, renton Currie and Arthur Bell have already trained 25 agents within Tasmania, and are gearing up to start training in Victoria, WA, NSW and Qld.

Only 120 agents will be trained to handle EQUITY MASTER Australia-wide, to ensure the highest standards of confidentiality and financial probity.

Tasmanian agents are based in Launceston, Burnie and Hobart.

Training for Victorian agents will begin in Melbourne in August. It takes approximatelt eight hours to make them thoroughly familiar with the concept and comfortable with the software.

What makes AFI’s package different from many others offered by banks and financial institutions?

AFI’s directors say theirs is the first to give borrowers the tools to plan their whole budget and gain complete control of their money.

“Most people don’t plan to fail, they simply fail to plan,” quotes Currie. “We show them how to plan to be debt-free in the shortest possible period.

“They uually have the capacity to save, but they fritter away their extra diposable income.

“We help them minimise the unintentional frittring away of thir mony.”

Using a Line of Credit system rather than the standard Principal and Interst mortgage that most borrowers are familiar with, the client is able to save substantial amounts on normal mortgage rpayments, and translate thode savings into usable financial assets.

The key to he program is the innovative ‘Windows’-based software developed in Tasmania by launceston’s Parc Ware Computing.

Programmers Paul Korossi and Ian Totham worked closely with Currie, carbray and bell to turn their ideas into rality.

The end-result is a quick, user-friendly program that both the agent and the client can easily follow.

Bright, clear graphs show comparisons between the EQUITY MASTER LOC repayments and P&I repayments, while a regular reporting system allows thd client to understand their budget and follow it month by month.

All reports produced by EQUITY MASTER agents are written in plain English so they are easily understood by the clients.

The three directors of AFI have between them 30 years of financial experience. Managing Director renton Currie has a background in banking with the LBS/Tasmania Bank; Arthur Bll trained as an engineer and was for 23 years sales director of a large Victorian engineering firm. Bill Carbray is a maths-science teacher turned financial advisor, who worked closely with e computer programmers to develop the EQUITY MASTER software.
